I have been wanting some fine taxidermy for quite some time now but my guilt for the poor animal as well as the creepy aspect of something dead on my wall has always prohibited my desires. While perusing Urban Outfitters apartment section I stumbled on this wonderful piece of cardboard taxidermy. Made from recycled cardboard, the laser-cut pieces fit together like a puzzle to create either a rhino or deer head.

Alice in Wonderland
Tim Burton's upcoming film Alice and Wonderland, is a semi sequel featuring Alice several years later. Burton's creepy, candy colored vision and one of my favorite tales, seems to good to be true. The film stars Burton's usual muses Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter and Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen and Anne Hathaway as the White Queen. The film in due out in March 2010, the best news is that the film will be in 3D (I can't wait)!

The Uniform Project: 1 dress for 365 days
Starting this May 2009, Brooklyn designer Sheena Matheiken made the bold decision to wear only one dress for an entire year, forming The Uniform Project. Every day she reinvents her look with layers and accessories, most of which are vintage, handmade or hand-me-downs. The Uniform Project is also a year-long fundraiser for the Akanksha Foundation, a grassroots movement that is revolutionizing education in India. At the end of the year, all contributions will go toward Akanksha’s School Project to fund uniforms and other educational expenses for slum children in India. You can donate accessories to help add flavor to the dress or donate money to the cause.
